Frequently asked questions
Is manual handling training a legal requirement?
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to avoid hazardous manual handling where possible, assess what remains, and reduce the risk - which includes providing suitable training for anyone whose work involves lifting, carrying or moving loads.
How often should manual handling training be refreshed?
There is no fixed legal interval, but every three years is common industry practice, with earlier refreshers after incidents, job changes or new equipment.
Is online manual handling training enough?
For many roles, yes - our £18 online course covers the regulations and safe technique with certification. For high-risk manual handling roles, we also deliver practical RTITB-accredited courses on your site.
