About This Course
The Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health qualification is the most advanced mental health first aid programme available to UK employers. Designed for managers, supervisors, HR professionals and anyone with formal responsibility for other people's wellbeing at work, it combines the individual first aid skills of a qualified MHFA with the strategic, legal and leadership competencies that a supervisory role demands.
Both delivery formats cover the same rigorous content across ten units and lead to the same NFAQ Level 3 certificate. The classroom programme is ideal for organisations that want trainer-led skills practice and the dynamic of a small group learning environment. The online programme is designed for learners who need flexibility — busy managers, remote workers, or organisations training people across multiple sites.
Legal context: The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require employers to conduct risk assessments that include psychological hazards. The Equality Act 2010 imposes a duty to make reasonable adjustments where a mental health condition meets the disability threshold. This qualification equips managers with both the knowledge to understand these obligations and the practical skills to discharge them.
