Am I Eligible for this Course?
This course is for delegates who hold an existing 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate that is approaching expiry or has recently expired (HSE recommends completing within one month of expiry). If you originally completed the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, you only need to complete the 1-day EFAW course again to renew. If your FAW certificate expired more than 3 months ago, we recommend taking the full 3-day FAW course.
About This Course
The 2-day First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for first aiders whose 3-day FAW certificate is approaching expiry. This course refreshes essential first aid skills and ensures continued compliance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. On successful completion, delegates receive a renewed Level 3 FAW qualification, enabling them to continue acting as a trained first aider in both low and high-risk workplace environments.
The course covers the same content as the full 3-day course but is delivered at a faster pace, recognising that delegates already have first aid knowledge and experience. You'll update your skills on CPR, AED use, managing bleeding and shock, and responding to a wide range of medical emergencies and traumatic injuries.
HSE Guidance: The HSE strongly recommends that first aiders requalify before, or as soon as possible after, their certificate expiry date. Ideally, you should complete requalification within one month of your certificate expiring to maintain continuous first aid cover in your workplace.

Excellent training organization, My instructor and the rest of the team 10 out of 10. Received my counterbalance and rider truck certificates the same day very fast thanks to the whole team, Excellent prices highly recommend
CPC Courses are, at best boring and at worse not worth the money. Now that I have completed my 5 modules, 4 of which were with Andrew, who has a special way of getting the point of some things into my head, believe me that is no small feat. I have thoroughly enjoyed all modules that NCT arranged for me, plus the fact it is now done via Zoom just helped me to remember it. The whole experience was so simple, right from booking a full 5 day course, to today, where I can say 'no more til next year' same place, different dates. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with NCT. 10/10 for the guys and girls in the office, the ones we don't get to see. The price as well, considering there I'd so many Lorry and Coach Drivers that, like me have left it to the last minute before renewing their CPC Cards. My advice on that one would be to shop around, I did and NCP were by far alot cheaper than most of the others I contacted. Thankyou to Andrew, who was my Trainer for 4/5 modules and he is an absolute excellent teacher Thankyou Guys
A very 'BIG THANK YOU' to my Instructor, who trained me on both Reach Truck and Counter Balance. I passed my Test on both. Instructor is very professional, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend and appreciate for getting my licence done.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I requalify?
The HSE strongly recommends requalifying before, or as soon as possible after, your certificate expires. Ideally, book your requalification course to complete within one month of your expiry date. If your certificate expired more than 3 months ago, we recommend taking the full 3-day course instead.
I only have an EFAW certificate - can I take this course?
No - this course is specifically for renewing the 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification. If you hold the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate, you simply need to retake the 1-day EFAW course to renew. If you want to upgrade from EFAW to the full FAW, you'll need to complete the full 3-day course.
What's the assessment like?
Assessment includes continuous practical observation throughout the course, plus two multiple-choice questionnaires. You'll need to demonstrate competence in key skills including CPR, AED use, and managing various injuries and emergencies. Don't worry - our supportive trainers will ensure you're well prepared.
Do I need to bring proof of my existing qualification?
Yes, please bring your existing FAW certificate or evidence of your previous qualification on Day 1. This helps us verify your eligibility for the requalification course. If you can't locate your certificate, contact your previous training provider for a copy.
What's included in the course fee?
The fee includes all training materials, use of CPR mannequins and AED trainers, first aid equipment for practical exercises, refreshments at our venue, and your accredited certificate valid for 3 years. For on-site courses, we bring all equipment to your premises.
What are the age requirements?
The minimum age to attend is 14 years. However, to be designated as a workplace first aider with responsibility for others, delegates must be at least 16 years old. Delegates should be physically able to carry out practical elements including kneeling for CPR practice.
