This annual refresher helps maintain your skills but does not extend or replace your Paediatric First Aid certificate. Your full PFA certificate remains valid for 3 years from the original issue date. When your certificate expires, you must complete the full Paediatric First Aid course to requalify. The EYFS framework recommends attending annual refresher training to help maintain basic skills during the 3-year certification period.
About This Course
The Paediatric First Aid Annual Refresher is a practical, hands-on session designed to help childcare professionals maintain their first aid skills between full certifications. The updated EYFS 2025 framework now recommends that early years providers consider whether Paediatric First Aiders need to undertake annual refresher training during their 3-year certification period.
This focused 3-hour course concentrates on the most critical life-saving skills - infant and child CPR, choking response, and managing common emergencies. You'll practice techniques on mannequins, refresh your knowledge of current guidelines, and leave with renewed confidence in your ability to respond effectively in an emergency.
