Practice the mock exam
A full length 50 question mock in the style of the real test, with unlimited attempts. Aim for two passes in a row at 90 percent.
Sit your test
We book your test at your nearest Pearson Vue centre on a date that suits you. Bring photo ID, and your result is printed the same day.

CITB runs three versions of the Health, Safety and Environment Test. Your card decides which one you sit, and every package below includes the prep course, the mock exam and the test itself.
Operatives Test
The test most CSCS applications need: Green Labourer card, Red cards and the Blue Skilled Worker card.

Specialists Test

Every £50 package is made up of the £23.50 CITB HS&E Test fee, payable to CITB, plus £26.50 for our booking service, preparation course and mock exam. The same test can be booked directly with CITB for the test fee alone, without the preparation or booking service.

Green · Labourer
Valid 5 yearsFor labourers and general operatives carrying out non skilled site work.
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (or equivalent)
- CITB Operatives test
Red · Trainee, Apprentice & Experienced
Temporary cardsTemporary cards for people working towards a qualification: apprentices, trainees registered on a course, and experienced workers completing an NVQ.
- Registration on a recognised qualification or apprenticeship
- CITB Operatives test (most occupations)
Blue · Skilled Worker
Valid 5 yearsFor tradespeople who have completed their qualification: bricklayers, joiners, plasterers, groundworkers and every skilled occupation.
- NVQ or SVQ Level 2 in your occupation, or a completed apprenticeship
- CITB Operatives test (certain trades sit a Specialist test)
Gold · Advanced Craft
Valid 5 yearsFor experienced tradespeople qualified beyond Level 2 in their craft.
- NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in your occupation, or an approved indentured apprenticeship
- CITB Operatives test (certain trades sit a Specialist test)
Gold · Supervisory
Valid 5 yearsFor site supervisors, gangers and team leaders who direct the work of others.

Valid 5 yearsFor site managers, project managers and senior managers running construction projects.

National Compliance Training is an independent training provider and third party booking agent for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test. We are not CITB and we are not part of CITB or CSCS, and CSCS cards are issued by CSCS, not by us. The test is a CITB product delivered at Pearson Vue test centres, and it can also be booked directly with CITB for the £23.50 test fee alone. No preparation product can guarantee a pass: your result depends on your performance on the day. Tests can be rescheduled free of charge with sufficient notice, normally at least 72 hours before the appointment; missed appointments and ID failures forfeit the CITB test fee.
