Frequently asked questions
How often should forklift refresher training be done?
HSE guidance in ACOP L117 recommends refresher training every 3 to 5 years, or sooner after an accident or near miss, a long break from operating, or a change of truck type or working conditions.
Is forklift refresher training a legal requirement?
No fixed interval is set in law, but PUWER 1998 requires employers to ensure operators remain competent. A lack of refresher training is regularly cited in HSE prosecutions following workplace accidents.
How long does a forklift refresher course take?
One day for most operators. Training can be completed at our Nuneaton centre or on your site, and covers theory, a practical assessment and current safe operating standards.
How much does a forklift refresher cost?
From £150 per operator at our Nuneaton training centre. On-site group bookings are priced per course, which is usually more cost-effective for two or more operators.
