Carbon Reduction Policy
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
National Compliance Training is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Carbon and Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented prior to the 2024 baseline.
- Transition to a fully electric fleet of lift trucks.
- 100% of our training centre electricity is backed by Renewable Energy.
- Changed our website hosting provider in 2019 to a UK-based server powered by 100% renewable energy.
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
- Energy Efficiency Improvements: Implementing additional energy efficiency measures in our offices and training facilities.
- Renewable Energy Sourcing: Ensuring all electricity used in our operations is sourced from renewable energy.
- Carbon Offsetting: Investing in carbon offset projects to neutralise any remaining emissions.
- Remote Training: Increasing the use of remote training to reduce travel-related emissions.
- Transition to Electric Fleet: A target is to transition our small fleet of non-EV vehicles for trainers to electric vehicles (EVs) powered by 100% renewable energy.
Timescale to Net Zero
Baseline Year (2024)
- Assess and report all current emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3).
- Identify major sources of emissions and potential areas for reduction.
- Set short-term(5-year), medium-term (10-year), and long-term (11-year) targets.
Short-term Goals (2024-2029)
- Initial Reductions (2024-2026):
- Transition to electric vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure all electricity is sourced from renewable energy.
- Implement energy efficiency measures in facilities (e.g., LED lighting, insulation).
- Optimize logistics and reduce unnecessary travel.
- Further Improvements (2027-2029):
- Increase the use of renewable energy on-site (e.g., solar panels).
- Invest in carbon offset projects for any remaining emissions.
- Promote remote work to reduce commuting emissions.
Medium-term Goals (2030-2034)
- Continuous Improvements (2030-2032):
- Upgrade to the latest energy-efficient technologies.
- Enhance waste management and recycling programs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to reduce Scope 3 emissions.
- Advanced Measures (2033-2034):
- Implement circular
economy practices to minimize waste. - Achieve significant
reductions in emissions through innovation and technology.
- Implement circular
Long-term Goals (2035)
- Final Reductions (2035):
- Close remaining gaps in emissions reductions.
- Invest in large-scale renewable energy projects.
- Ensure all operations and supply chains are carbon-neutral.
Target Timeline
- 2024: Establish baseline emissions.
- 2025: Implement initial reduction measures (electric fleet, renewable energy).
- 2030: Achieve a 50% reduction from the baseline.
- 2032: Reach a 55-65% reduction from the baseline.
- 2034: Achieve a 70-80% reduction from the baseline.
- 2035: Achieve Net Zero emissions.
We project that our carbon emissions for the baseline year of 2024 will total approximately 16,096 kgCO2e, based on an extrapolated estimate from the year-to-date data. Our goal is to reduce these emissions by 50%, aiming to reach 8,000 kgCO2e by 2030.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
