In-House Forklift & MHE Training in Hinckley
We deliver RTITB-aligned forklift and MHE training directly at client premises in Hinckley and across Leicestershire. Our instructors regularly support warehousing, manufacturing and logistics environments operating within this nationally significant Midlands hub.
Operator training at premises across Hinckley, including businesses based at Dodwells Bridge Industrial Estate and Sketchley Meadows Industrial Estate, focuses on real-site delivery rather than classroom-only instruction. Working within the client's own loading bays, racking aisles and yard space ensures relevant, documented training that reflects actual operational risk.
All training is delivered on your premises, using your equipment and structured around your operational timetable. This approach ensures relevance, reduces off-site downtime and produces verifiable competence records for each participating operator.

Hinckley In-House Forklift Training FAQs
Do you provide training within food distribution and chilled logistics environments in Hinckley?
Yes. NCT delivers training in ambient and temperature-controlled food distribution sites near Hinckley, including FIFO environments, chilled intake zones and hygiene-sensitive handling requirements.
Can reach truck training be tailored to the racking configuration in use on site?
Yes. NCT adapts reach truck delivery to the specific racking system, aisle widths and height restrictions in use at your Hinckley site, ensuring training reflects the actual operating environment.
Is it possible to add equipment conversion candidates to a refresher group?
Yes. NCT regularly includes conversion candidates — operators moving from one equipment category to another — within the same training group as refresher delegates, structured around existing certification.
Is there a recommended renewal interval for forklift operator certification?
Refresher training is widely recommended every three to five years, though high-risk environments and operators who have changed equipment category may require more frequent assessment. NCT can advise based on your specific operation.
Can you deliver training to sites in rural or less accessible locations near Hinckley?
Yes. NCT covers sites across the wider Hinckley area, including facilities outside town centres. Where access is straightforward and suitable equipment is available, delivery can be arranged at more remote locations.
Instructor Application
×Hinckley is one of the closest towns to our Nuneaton training centre, around five miles along the A5, which means we can be flexible in a way that distant providers simply cannot. Whether you need a single operator assessed at short notice or a full novice course delivered on your own premises, our RTITB-registered instructors are minutes away rather than hours.
Forklift training where Hinckley actually works
Most of Hinckley’s forklift activity happens on the industrial land that lines the A5 corridor west and south of the town. We regularly deliver on-site counterbalance and reach truck training at units on the Harrowbrook Industrial Estate, around the Sketchley Lane Industrial Estate and Sketchley Meadows, and on the business parks clustered near Dodwells Bridge, including Hinckley Business Park on Brindley Road. These estates are a mix of light industrial, warehousing and logistics operations, exactly the environments where properly trained lift truck operators matter most.
The town also has a serious manufacturing pedigree. Hinckley is home to the global headquarters of Triumph Motorcycles, and the engineering and production businesses that have grown up around that kind of manufacturing base all move materials by forklift every day. On-site training means your operators learn on the trucks they drive, in the racking layouts and yard spaces they navigate every shift, with your own loads rather than generic test weights.
Train at your site or at our centre near the M69
Because Hinckley sits so close to Nuneaton, you get a genuine choice. Send one or two operators to our CV11 training centre, where courses run regularly and there is no need to take a truck out of service, or have an instructor come to you. For a team of three or more, on-site delivery at your Hinckley premises is usually the more practical option: no travel time for your staff, training scheduled around your production hours, and the test conducted on your own equipment.
Either way, the content is the same. All courses follow the RTITB syllabus, covering pre-use inspections, safe stacking and de-stacking, operating on ramps and in confined aisles, and the legal duties placed on operators and employers under PUWER and LOLER. Successful candidates are registered on the RTITB NORS database, so their certification is verifiable by any future employer or insurer.
Should we come to you or will you come to us?
Both work well from Hinckley. Our centre is roughly ten minutes away for individual bookings, and for group bookings an instructor travels out to your site at no great logistical cost because the distance is so short. We will recommend whichever option suits your numbers and your downtime.
How long does a novice forklift course take?
A complete novice with no previous experience typically needs five days on counterbalance to reach test standard. Operators with some undocumented experience can often be trained and tested in two to three days following an initial assessment on day one.
What do Hinckley candidates receive on passing?
Each successful operator receives an RTITB certificate of basic training and registration on NORS, the National Operator Registration Scheme. We also provide the employer with the test marksheets, which form part of your training records for insurance and HSE purposes.
