Frequently asked questions
Is Level 2 Food Hygiene a legal requirement?
UK food law requires every food handler to be trained commensurate with their role. The Level 2 Award in Food Safety is the standard EHOs expect for anyone preparing or handling food, and our online course provides instant certification for £15.
How long does a food hygiene certificate last?
Certificates do not legally expire, but industry best practice and most EHOs recommend renewal every three years, or sooner if practices or legislation change.
Is allergen training required by law?
Since Natasha's Law (2021), strict allergen labelling applies to prepacked food, and FSA guidance expects all food businesses to train staff on the 14 allergens. Our online allergen awareness course covers these duties.
What do I need to sell alcohol?
Licensed premises need a premises licence and a designated premises supervisor who holds a personal licence. The personal licence requires the Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH), which we run for £110 including the exam.
