Protect Lives.
Stay Compliant.
Inspect with Confidence.
Post-Grenfell legislation has created new, legally binding duties for building owners, managers and inspectors. Our NFAQ-accredited fire safety courses give you the knowledge to meet those duties — and evidence that you've done so.
Why this matters now
Maximum interval for communal fire door checks in buildings above 11m — Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
Best-endeavours requirement for flat entrance door checks in qualifying residential buildings
Unlimited fines possible for Responsible Persons who fail to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
Legal requirement: The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into force 23 January 2023. Responsible Persons in residential buildings must now conduct quarterly fire door checks — and must use competent persons to do so.

Why fire door training
has never been more important
A sequence of legislation since 2017 has fundamentally changed the duty of care placed on building owners, managers and the professionals who inspect their buildings. Ignorance is no defence.
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
Places the duty to manage fire safety — including fire door maintenance — on the Responsible Person. Article 17 requires doors to be maintained in efficient working order at all times.
Building Safety Act & Fire Safety (England) Regulations
Introduced quarterly communal door checks, annual flat entrance door inspections, and a competence framework (SKEB) for safety-critical roles. Qualifications are now expected — not optional.
Competence is now a legal expectation
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours. Duty holders must demonstrate that those carrying out fire door work are competent. An NFAQ certificate provides verifiable evidence of the knowledge component.
